Mr Alex Cruz has been serving BA since 2016. As reported he Aer Lingus boss Sean Doyle will take his duties in the company.
Mr Cruz is also holding non-executive chairman role for the British Airways. He will sustain his duties while the transition is completed then Mr Doyle will also take on this role as well.
During this covid-19 crisis, BA was clashing with unions over job cuts and salary reductions. The company has a plan of laying-off around 10,000 workers across the various department. The move has since been heavily criticized by the staff members and politicians.
Mr, Luis Gallego, chief executive of BA mother company IAG recently took over the charge from long-standing boss Willie Walsh. After acquiring the position, he announced massive reforms across the board in order to sustain the recovery after the coronavirus outbreak.
Records revealed that mere 1.2 million passengers used Heathrow in September, down 82% in contrast with the same month year before.
Mr Cruz did the dirty work needed by the company. His key task during this difficult time was to manage job cuts and salary cuts of the remaining staff.
All these changes seemed important but the way it was done was not appreciated by both employees.
He managed to reduced costs in recent times, but customers satisfaction level reduced massively.
The new IAG boss, Luis Gallego, is aiming effectively to build bridges between the company and workers.
