Amazon Echo Buds getting new fitness tracking features

Amazon Echo Buds headphones are getting an update which would bring the fitness tracking features to the headphones as it was early reported by many sources.

The new feature is estimated to be rolling out over the next couple of days, according to the company. The Echo Buds will be able to track the duration of a workout, counting the steps, estimated calories burned and how fast or how far you walk or run.

Amazon is taking health fitness seriously and said that the steps are measured using an accelerometer in the Echo Buds. The user can also enter their height into the workout profile. Still, new features have not been tested by any independent source.

Amazon said customers can get started by doing this:

  • Open the Alexa app on your phone.
  • Tap “More” on the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap “Settings.”
  • Choose Account Settings.
  • Tap Workouts.
  • Select “Create Workout profile.”

After a workout, Echo Buds users can see stats by doing this:

  • Open the Alexa app.
  • Tap devices.
  • Choose “Echo &Alexa.“Select “Echo Buds.”
  • Select “Workouts.”

The workout can be activated by saying “Alexa start my run” and users canalso ask Alexa to pause, end or provide an update on your workout.
