Capital Bank, N.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBNK), announced Wednesday the appointment of veteran banking and technology executive Don Busick to its Board of Directors as the institution continues to expand its digital banking capabilities.
Busick brings extensive experience in digital transformation, product development, enterprise technology, customer experience, and financial services operations. The appointment reflects Capital Bank’s ongoing focus on technology modernization and customer-centric innovation across its banking platforms.
Currently, Busick serves as Managing Partner at Arica, sits on the board of Koalafi, and is the founder of Small Venue Music. He is best known for his nearly 22-year career at Capital One, where he held a series of senior leadership positions spanning digital strategy, technology, operations, and product management.
Most recently, Busick served as Executive Vice President at Capital One, overseeing a team of more than 5,000 employees responsible for enterprise-wide digital products and technology platforms. During his tenure, he worked closely with senior leadership to advance digital transformation initiatives, expand mobile banking adoption, strengthen data capabilities, and support large-scale cloud migration efforts.
Capital Bank said Busick’s expertise will help guide the institution’s continued investment in digital banking solutions across its various business lines, including commercial banking, mortgage services, OpenSky, and other specialty financial products.
The bank has increasingly focused on enhancing technology infrastructure and delivering more seamless customer experiences as competition intensifies across both traditional and digital banking sectors.
Management noted that Busick’s background in large-scale technology platforms, customer-facing product development, and operational leadership aligns with the bank’s long-term strategy of building scalable and connected financial services.
The appointment comes as banks across the industry continue investing heavily in digital transformation, data analytics, cloud technologies, and mobile banking capabilities to meet evolving customer expectations.
Busick graduated from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce with a Bachelor of Science degree and resides in Glen Allen, Virginia.
Capital Bancorp operates through Capital Bank and provides commercial banking, consumer banking, mortgage lending, and specialty financial services to customers across multiple markets. The company has emphasized technology innovation as a key component of its growth strategy in recent years.
The addition of Busick to the board is expected to strengthen the bank’s leadership capabilities as it continues pursuing digital modernization initiatives and long-term business growth.
