CBAK Energy Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBAT), a China-based lithium-ion battery manufacturer and energy solutions provider, showcased its latest cylindrical battery technologies at The Battery Show Europe 2026, highlighting products designed for residential energy storage, portable power systems, and emerging artificial intelligence (AI) data center applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company participated in the June 9-11 event at Messe Stuttgart in Germany, where it presented a range of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and sodium-ion battery products aimed at addressing growing demand for safer, longer-lasting, and more efficient energy storage solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the products on display were CBAK Energy’s 26650 FS4 and 26700 FB2 multi-tab cylindrical cells, the full-tab 40135 and 32140 series LFP batteries, sodium-ion technologies, and customized 26-series battery solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the company, discussions with customers and industry partners during the exhibition highlighted shifting priorities within Europe’s energy storage market. While battery capacity remains important, buyers are increasingly focused on safety certifications, regulatory compliance, cycle-life performance, and reliability across a wide range of operating conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CBAK said its 26650 FS4 battery has obtained UL 1642, IEC 62133, and BIS certifications, while the 26700 FB2 cell has completed UL 9540A fire testing. These certifications are intended to support system integrators and manufacturers seeking to meet European safety requirements and streamline product approvals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company also emphasized the performance characteristics of its 40135 LFP cell, which it says delivers an energy density of 159 Wh\/kg and more than 4,000 charge-discharge cycles while retaining 80% of its state of health under specified testing conditions. The battery is also designed to operate in low-temperature environments, maintaining functionality at temperatures as low as -30\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CBAK noted that demand for flexible battery pack configurations and fast-charging capabilities continues to increase in both residential and portable energy storage markets. The company’s 26650 FS4 cylindrical cell is designed for compact and customizable battery pack layouts, while the 40135 incorporates a full-tab architecture intended to reduce internal resistance, improve charging efficiency, and limit heat generation during high-current operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company also introduced its upcoming second-generation 26650 HP\/PFS2 battery, which is being developed for AI data center power applications. As demand for AI infrastructure expands globally, data center operators are increasingly seeking high-density battery technologies capable of supporting backup power systems and improving operational reliability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Capacity is now just the starting point,” said Zhiguang Hu, Chief Executive Officer of CBAK Energy. “In the European market, true battery value is increasingly defined by high safety standards, compliance readiness, and sustained performance over long-term use.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Battery Show Europe is one of the industry’s largest events for battery and energy storage technologies, bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, and energy companies from across the global value chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
